Day 4 Stratford

After a hearty breakfast of basically anything we desired,  (namely, cereal, bacon, eggs, baked beans, fruit salad, muesli, yoghurt and more), we boarded the bus for Stratford. The trip took approximately 2.5 hours. There we were met by David, our tour guide, whose wealth of knowledge about anything Shakespearean astounded us. We visited Shakespeare’s birthplace, his wife Anne Hathaway’s house, his mother Mary Arden’s house, driving through verdant countryside and quaint villages whose streets were lined with cottages, such as the one directly below.

Shakespeare’s birthplace – the home in which he lived with his siblings and where his father worked – where we witnessed a brilliant 5 minute performance from Romeo and Juliet.

Anne Hathaway’s home as pictured on calendars, biscuit tins and numerous souvenirs.

Daniel Maley celebrated his 17th birthday back in London sharing a delicious chocolate mud cake.
